Hey Ellen,
I've spoken with you on several occasions, I'm a friend of Amy's and live in Bratt.
I've been reading your blog daily with great anticipation and enthusiasm! You are my inspiration for what can be accomplished (having reached my 51st birthday in January) - your blog entries are wonderful, as are your photos. It's shear pleasure to journey across the country through you. Thank you for keeping your fans updated. Safe and joyous travels!

And according to the driving directions from San Diego to St. Augustine, there are 2,376 miles between the two, and from San Diego to Camp Wood is 1,190, so you are just a couple of miles past halfway (driving) and probably about the same biking! You made it halfway! Way to go!

Thank you for calling me today! It was nice to finally be able to sit outside on the phone too! I looked up where Crawford/Bush is for you, and it's near Waco, so it will be ~100 miles north of you, a little too far for a day trip. Also, it seems according to the number of places you're staying in Texas, you're halfway through the state, at least in terms of accommodations! And from an eyeballed measurement on google maps, it looks like you're geographically about half too!
